VIDEO: Driver slams into NYPD squad car, sends 2 cops to hospital
Two police officers were hospitalized Saturday after their squad car was T-boned by an SUV in Brooklyn.
The squad car was heading to an emergency — its lights and sirens on — when a Chevrolet Trailblazer slammed into its side door at the corner of Ridgewood Ave. and Hemlock St. in Cypress Hills about 11:15 a.m.
The force of the impact sent the cop car careening onto the sidewalk, where it slammed into a parked car and the front gate of a building.
Surveillance video from a corner store shows the two cops stepping out of the crushed vehicle.

One cop immediately stretched out on the ground as he stepped out, the video shows.
The crumpled cruiser was followed by another NYPD squad car. The officers inside immediately stopped and gave assistance.
Medics rushed both cops to Jamaica Hospital with neck and back pain, police said.
No charges were filed, but the SUV driver was expected to get a motor vehicle violation, police sources said.

The driver of the Trailblazer, a 62-year-old man, was also taken to Jamaica Hospital with a minor injury.
Police believe that the motorist did not fully stop at the stop sign at the corner when he struck the police cruiser.
No charges were filed, but the motorist was expected to get a motor vehicle violation, police sources said.
