Man jumps off Queens highway overpass, dies after hit by car

A 25-year-old man died after jumping off an overpass into the path of a vehicle on a Queens highway, police said Sunday.

Police believe the man leapt off the Jamaica Ave. overpass onto the busy Van Wyck Expy. in Jamaica around 10:20 p.m. Saturday, cops said.

A 33-year-old driving a black Ford Taurus then slammed into him, according to officials.

Police found the victim unconscious and unresponsive. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital but could not be saved, police said.

The driver remained on the scene, cops said.

It was not immediately clear what precipitated the fall.
