Kelowna RCMP arrest wanted man after early morning foot chase – Kelowna News

Kelowna RCMP arrested a man with outstanding warrants after a foot chase Friday morning.
Mounties responded to an alarm at a business located in the 2300 Block of Baron Rd. at 5 a.m. on Dec. 9.
When they arrived on the scene officers found a suspect just west of the business, but as they were attempting to identify the man, he took off running forcing officers to chase the man on foot. After a brief chase he was tracked down arrested and taken into custody.
“This particular individual is well-known to police and thanks to the great work by our officers he is in custody,” says RCMP spokesperson Const. Mike Della-Paolera.
Mounties went back to the business and gathered video surveillance showing the suspect entering the store, taking items and then leaving with them. The suspect, who was not identified by RCMP, has been charged with break and enter and it was determined he has four warrants within multiple communities in B.C.
“Our team was able to respond quickly to the alarm call and track down the individuals responsible,” said Della-Paolera.
