Cops bust armed thief after shoppers stabbed at Mall of America
A would-be thief knifed two shoppers he tried to rob inside a Macy’s dressing room at Minnesota’s Mall of America on Sunday night, according to police.
The first victim walked in on the suspect pilfering his belongings, and the man pulled out a blade in the men’s department around 6:45 p.m. local time in the massive Bloomington mall, cops said.
Bloomington Police Chief Jeff Potts said a family member rushed in to help and was stabbed during the struggle at the retail chain. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

The wounded victims managed to disarm the blade-wielding suspect and keep him down until police arrived for the arrest, within two minutes of the initial 911 call.
The Star Tribune reports one of the victims was stabbed repeatedly, while the other was pierced in the back.
A woman who said she was near the Macy’s assault heard someone screaming, “He got me! He got me!”
“I knew something was not right. Some other shoppers ran towards the screaming,” tweeted Jolene Situma. “I called the police and hid.”
The suspect was identified by police as Mahad Abdirahman, 20, of Minneapolis. He faces assault charges for the attack.
