The Whole Internet Lost It After GOP Sen. Rick Scott Said Prices Are “Unfortunately” Going Up… And Yes, He’s Reportedly Worth $500M
Senator Rick Scott (R-FL) is going viral after telling Americans that price hikes are “unfortunately” going to continue.
“I think unfortunately prices are gonna be up for a while until this ends,” Sen. Rick Scott said of rising costs — including gas — that Americans are facing as the US conflict with Iran goes on.
“With hopefully a positive resolution to this conflict, I think prices will come down even further,” he said.

While the end of the fighting, and lower prices as a result, would obviously be welcome news, Donald Trump has not exactly been straightforward about when exactly this “conflict” will end. On one hand, Trump said the operation would last “four to six weeks,” later saying that the “war is very complete, pretty much.” On the other hand, this week, Trump said he’ll hit Iran harder if needed. So, at this point, no one really knows for sure.
In the meantime, people aren’t too thrilled to hear that prices will “unfortunately” keep rising out of Sen. Scott’s mouth, particularly considering the man’s net worth is reportedly estimated to be over $500 million.
“great midterm message. inspired to get the man worth $500 million to deliver it,” one wrote.

“Wealthy fraudsters like Trump and Scott need you to sacrifice for their war,” another said.
People are also pointing out the hypocrisy, considering that the Republicans’ whole presidential campaign schtick rested on Trump’s vision to “bring prices down.”

Anyway, as gas prices rise, Trump had a different perspective to a crowd of supporters on Wednesday.
He said, “Under our policies, prices for chicken, eggs, cheese, butter, potatoes, and fresh fruit are lower today by a lot than when I took office. Hotel rates, automobile prices, and rent payments are way down as well.”
