Police are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old died when a car collided with a tree in Staplehurst in Kent.

Kent Police was called to the incident on Headcorn Road at about 20:25 BST on Thursday after a blue Seat Ibiza Xcellence hit a tree after exiting a junction.

Paramedics and Kent Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene where the 17-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers, 19 and 17, also sustained serious injuries and were both taken to hospital.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident or saw the vehicle beforehand to contact them.
