SAN DIEGO (FOX 5.KUSI) — A driver was sent to the hospital Wednesday morning after crashing a Ferrari into a tree in Rancho Santa Fe.

According to officials with the Rancho Santa Fe Fire Department, the incident took place around 7:30 a.m. in the 4700 block of La Noria.
The driver was reportedly traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of collision. No further details surrounding the crash were immediately available.
Murder-suicide investigation underway in Escondido
The driver was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition, officials said.
In the photo below, a tow truck can be seen at the crash site with the Ferrari visibly mangled.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident.
