Ottawa police investigating ‘targeted’ Saturday evening shooting in Carlington area

The Ottawa Police Service’s guns and gangs unit is investigating what it called a “targeted” shooting that occurred in the Carlington neighbourhood Saturday evening.

Police said officers responded to calls about a shooting in the 1000 block of Medford Street at about 7 p.m. No injuries were reported.

There was no risk to public safety following the incident, police said in a media release, and it has been “considered targeted.”

Anyone with information about the shooting was asked to contact the guns and gangs unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5050. Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca
