Clinton aide doesn’t know how emails ended up on husband’s computer

Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin has told people she doesn’t know how her emails ended up on her estranged husband’s computer, according to The Washington Post.

Abedin says she did not regularly use the computer, the newspaper reported, citing a person familiar with the investigation.

Her lawyers did not search the computer that belongs to former congressman Anthony Weiner when Abedin agreed to hand over emails to the State Department because she did not believe any of her emails would be on it, the person said.

Weiner and a lawyer for Abedin did not respond to requests for comment from The Washington Post.

Weiner is under investigation for allegedly exchanging lewd messages with a teenage girl.

It is not clear if any new emails were found on the computer.

FBI Director James Comey caused a major shakeup in the presidential election with his letter Friday revealing a review of newly discovered emails related to the FBI previously-closed investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server.
